Workspace settings
Open General under Workspace to see your workspace's name, region, and formats, and (if you're an owner) change them.
Who this is for
Anyone who can view team members can open this page, which in practice means managers and owners. Only an owner can actually change anything here; a manager sees the same facts on a calm read-only view instead of a form.
What you'll see
The page is headed General, and it's organised into four bands:
Workspace: the workspace's Name (its display name across WorkMonitor), its Workspace URL (described as anchoring your enrollment links; it can't be changed), and its Data region (where the workspace's data is stored and processed, one of United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Canada, or Australia).
Localization: Time zone (the workspace's default zone for showing dates and times), Language & region (sets number, date, and currency formatting), and Week starts on (the first day of your work week, used for payroll weeks and reporting: Monday or Sunday).
Identifiers: the read-only facts Members (people enrolled in this workspace) and Created (when this workspace was first opened).
Danger zone: described as irreversible. Closing a workspace permanently removes all people, captures, and the Proof Ledger; there's no self-serve delete, so the only control here is a disabled Contact support to close button.
If you're not an owner, a notice at the top reads "Only an owner can change these settings." *"You can review the workspace record here, but editing it is limited to owners."* Every field above shows as plain text instead of an editable control.
If you are an owner, each field becomes editable, and a save bar appears at the bottom the moment you change something, with Discard and Save changes buttons.
What happens next
Saving applies immediately and shows a "Workspace settings saved" confirmation. The localization values (time zone, language & region, week start) are stored here, but not every part of the product reads them yet. Dates and formats elsewhere in the app may not follow them right away.
If it doesn't work
- If you don't hold enough access to view the page at all, it fails to load and shows a generic "Couldn't load workspace settings" message with a Try again button. This looks like an error rather than a permission message, so if you see it, the likely explanation is that your role doesn't have access to workspace settings rather than something being broken.
- If you can see the page but try to save without owner access, saving fails with "Only an owner can change workspace settings."
- Working hours, listed alongside General under Workspace in the Settings hub, is marked Coming soon. There's no page behind it yet.
