Set up your workspace
Right after you create your account, a five-step wizard walks you through naming your organization, creating a first project, inviting your team, and choosing what WorkMonitor is allowed to capture.
Who this is for
The organization's Owner. This wizard opens automatically once you finish creating your account, on the workspace you just created. Nobody else is routed through it.
Steps
On a wide window, a rail down the left reads Get set up · Step 1 of 5 and names each step: Set up workspace, Project & region, Your team, Rollout, Go live.
- On Set up your workspace, confirm or change the Organisation name, then select Continue.
- On Set up your first project, enter a First project name, pick a Team size, and choose a Data region. The wizard presents the region as permanent, so pick deliberately. Select Continue.
- On Bring in your team, add teammates by email and select Add for each one, or select Skip this step → at the top right to do this later. Select Continue.
- On Roll out without a fight, drag the slider (or select one of the four cards) to set your organization's default capture level: Off, Presence, Captures (the one marked RECOMMENDED), or Realtime. Your team's view underneath lists exactly what that level turns on. The Send the consent request with each invite toggle now lives on this step; it only changes wording the wizard shows you (the per-teammate tag back on Bring in your team and the Consent row in the go-live summary), not what's actually sent when you invite someone. Select Continue.
- On You're one click from your baseline, check the summary, select any Edit link to change something, tick the acknowledgement that the policy is visible to every member, then select Publish & go live.
What happens next
Each step already saved as you selected Continue. Your organization's name, project, invites, and capture policy are all in place by the time you reach Publish & go live. That button doesn't save anything new; it takes you straight to a success screen announcing your organization is live, where you can select See today's brief →, Open Insights →, Invite more people →, or Go to dashboard.
A few things worth knowing:
- Invites are created the moment you select Continue on Bring in your team, not at go-live. There's no undo in the wizard, so add people only when you mean to email them.
- The rail's steps are clickable, and jumping to one that way doesn't save the step you're leaving. Use Continue when you want your changes written.
- If you leave the first project's name as it starts, WorkMonitor creates a real project using that default name. Rename or remove it later from Projects if you don't want it.
- Team size only tailors the setup screens for you; it isn't shown to anyone and isn't a setting you'll find elsewhere later.
If it doesn't work
- If a step fails to save, you'll see a "That didn't save" toast with the server's message, or "Please try again."
- If only the data-region update fails, the wizard still moves you forward and shows "Couldn't update the data region". You can set it later in Settings.
- If you land on this page without being signed in, you're sent to sign in first.
