Your devices

The Your devices list on the Get the agent screen shows the devices you're allowed to see: your own, plus those of the people you're responsible for — and it tells you when a machine can't capture something.

Who this is for

Any signed-in member. What's in the list depends on who you are, not on which screen you opened.

What you'll see

The list is narrowed to what you may see. A member sees exactly their own machines. A manager sees their own plus those of the people in the part of the organization they're responsible for, and someone with organization-wide access sees every device. If you can see anyone else's devices, each row also names whose machine it is, and so does the confirmation when you revoke one. Each row shows:

• A name: a label set when the device was enrolled, or its hostname; a device that hasn't connected yet and has neither reads "Unnamed device".
• Its kind: macOS, Windows, Linux, Browser (a browser-extension install), or Editor.
• A version number, once connected.
• How long ago it last checked in, or "never connected".
• A status: Connected, Awaiting install (the device is registered but nothing has enrolled with it yet), or Revoked.
• When the agent has told WorkMonitor something is limited on its machine, a line starting Limited on this machine that says what. On a Linux computer running a Wayland desktop, for example, it reads: no screenshots; idle time and keystroke counts aren't measured reliably, so their numbers are not a real reading; and activity time isn't labelled with the app in front or its window title, though the work record still records both. On a Mac where Screen Recording isn't allowed, activity time has no window titles, but if Accessibility is allowed the work record still records them. When idle time or keystroke counts are on the line, don't read a low or zero number from that machine as someone doing nothing. The line only appears when the agent actually reported a limitation; a device that works fully, a browser or editor device, or an agent too old to report shows nothing extra.

While the list is loading it reads "Loading your devices…"; the count next to the Your devices heading only appears once it's loaded.

What happens next

A device shows up here the moment it is registered (as Awaiting install) and flips to Connected the instant that build enrolls and phones home for the first time. That first moment is when you generate an install token, or, for a computer connected through the browser, when you choose Connect on the page that opened — in which case the two moments are seconds apart and you may never see Awaiting install. There's nothing to click to make this happen; the list just reflects reality.

If it doesn't work

• If nothing loads, you'll see "Couldn't load your devices right now." Try again shortly.
• Before anyone has installed anything, the list reads "No devices yet. Download the agent above and connect it. It appears here the moment it connects."
