Can I pause monitoring?

Yes. Open Profile and, under Private time, choose Pause 15 min, Pause 30 min, or Pause 60 min to stop screenshot and activity capture on your devices for that long.

What this means for you

Pausing takes effect immediately across your devices and survives a device restart, so you don't need to remember to turn it back on. It resumes on its own once the time runs out, or as soon as you select Resume now to end it early. On the Mac, you can also select Pause right from the menu-bar icon at any moment, with no timer needed: nothing is captured while you're paused, and selecting Resume picks tracking back up from where it stopped.
