Can my employer see my screen right now?

Only if your organization has turned on Live screen view, and only while screenshots are already active for you. It ships switched off, and most workspaces leave it off — but it is a real feature, so the honest answer is "check", not "no".

What this means for you

How to find out whether it is on. Open Controls, which every signed-in member can read. Live screen view appears there with its current state, next to every other signal. If it is off, nobody can watch your screen, and the most WorkMonitor can do is take periodic screenshots — and only if Screenshots is on and you have consented to it.

It cannot be a way around your consent. A live session can only start for someone whose screenshot capture is already in effect. If screenshots are off for you, or you have not consented to them, live view cannot be used on you either.

Who can start one. Someone with permission to manage or read members, and only for people within the part of the organization they are responsible for. Not any colleague.

You will not see it happening, and this is the part worth knowing. There is no indicator on your machine that lights up while somebody is watching. What there is instead is a record: every live session is written to the access trail the moment it starts. Open What We See → Who viewed my data to see each one, who opened it, and when. If you want to know whether it has ever happened to you, that page is the answer, and it is yours to read without asking anyone.

Private apps still apply. Your organization can mark specific apps Private. While a private app is in front, WorkMonitor changes what it captures — holding the image back until you release it, keeping only a blur, or skipping the capture entirely, depending on the mode your organization chose. Open App categories to see which apps are marked private for your workspace and which mode applies to each.
