Connect a tool
Connect Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or a project-management tool from the Connectors dashboard so WorkMonitor can post digests there or pull in your tasks.
Who this is for
Connecting, reconnecting, or disconnecting any tool on this page needs the permission that manages the organization, which only an owner holds by default. A manager can still see whether Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom is connected. Trying to change one instead fails with "Only owners and admins can connect Slack." (the message names whichever tool you tried). Someone without even the permission to read the team roster sees "Connecting Slack is available to managers and owners." in the card's place instead. Project management (Jira, Trello, ClickUp, Asana) is stricter: the whole section is hidden behind the same organization-management permission, so anyone but an owner sees "Connecting project-management tools is available to owners and admins." instead of any cards.
Before you start
An administrator needs to have added that provider's app credentials to this deployment first. A tool that isn't set up yet shows, for example, "Slack isn't configured on this deployment. Ask an administrator to add the Slack app credentials to enable it." in place of a working Connect button.
Steps
- Open Connectors from Integrations.
- Find the tool's card under Communication ("Post digests and pull meeting attendance.") for Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom, or under Project management ("Pull tasks from Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or Asana and write tracked time back where the tool supports it.") for Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or Asana.
- Select Connect. You're handed off to that provider's own sign-in screen.
- Approve the connection on the provider's side. You're returned to Connectors.
What happens next
The card's status changes to Connected, and its action becomes Disconnect. A Communication card also shows a short detail line once one exists, for example, which team or account it's connected to. A Project management card additionally offers Sync now to refresh its tasks on demand.
If it doesn't work
- If the connection needs attention (the provider rejected it, or it was disconnected on the provider's side), the card's status reads Needs attention and offers Reconnect next to Disconnect.
- If you're not signed in with the right permission, you'll see "Only owners and admins can connect Slack." (or whichever tool you tried).
- A Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or Asana sync that finds no live connection to pull from reports "Jira sync skipped. No live connection. Reconnect to sync." rather than pretending to succeed.
- The Payroll, Accounting, and Warehouse & BI sections further down the same page show their own connection status, but none of them offer a Connect button on this dashboard. Warehouse's only action here is Export now, and it stays disabled until a destination is already connected.
